Curriculum Vitae of Mr. A. Natarajan



         During the span of over 32 years’ of service in the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, Mr. A. Natarajan served at various capacities at the Ministry of External Affairs in New Delhi as well as in Indian diplomatic missions in China, Indonesia, France, Spain, Yemen, Bhutan and Sri Lanka respectively from 1984 till date.

Since January 2015, Mr. Natarajan has been the Consul General of India in Jaffna (Sri Lanka).

          Earlier, Mr. Natarajan has also served as the Consul General of India in Phuentsholing (Bhutan) from December 2008 to December 2011 and as the Assistant High Commissioner of India in Kandy (Sri Lanka) from December 2011 to December 2014. 

          As part of Indian delegation member, Mr. Natarajan has participated at a Delegation-level Talks between India and Pakistan on Baglihar Dam issue in Paris in 2005; SAARC Summit in Delhi in 2007; SAARC Summit in Thimphu in May 2010; and the UN Conference on Sustainable Development and  Climate Change in Bali (Indonesia) in 2002.

          Prior to 1984, Mr. Natarajan has also served at the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India as well as Delhi Administration.  While serving at Delhi Administration, Mr. Natarajan was entrusted with certain responsibilities during the Asian Games held in New Delhi in 1982.

          Mr. Natarajan is an honorary Member of various Golf Clubs in Sri Lanka and India.

          Mr. Natarajan was born on 17 June 1959 and is married to Santhi.  He has two daughters – Priya and Prabha.  Mr. Natarajan is a B.A. degree holder in History (Hons).
