Called Adam’s Bridge or Rama’s Bridge, it is a string of shoals stretching between Danushkodi at the end of the Indian island of Pamban in the extreme southeast of the country, and Talaimannar on the Sri Lankan island of Mannar, less than thirty kilometers away.
