Unusual scene in the town of Nochchiyagama, Sri Lanka: a two-meter crocodile broke into the police station. The building was evacuated while the animal was captured.
A two-meter-long crocodile broke into a police station in Sri Lanka and settled there overnight, forcing its occupants to evacuate the scene until it was captured.
The reptile entered through a back door of the Nochchiyagama police station, 190 kilometers north of Colombo.
“Police officers evacuated the building” at the time of the intrusion of this particular visitor who stayed the night “until wildlife specialists took him away this morning,” police said. “No one was injured” .
Locals are used to elephant attacks on villages in remote places but such a crocodile intrusion is very safe, another official said.
